Festival of Lens-Based Art Natural Magic

Tallinn Month of Photography is a festival of lens-based art organized by Union of Photography Artists in Estonia. The main program of the Month of Photography will take place in October 2011 and consists of exhibitions and events that seek to thematize the possibilities, limits and spatial relations of lens-based art.

The showpieces of the Month of Photography are an international group show in Kumu Art Museum, an exhibition of young Baltic artists in Kunsthalle Tallinn, a curated display of photographic heritage in Estonian Museum of History and a show of well recognized artist Boris Mikhailov in Kunsthalle Gallery. We also invite you to explore the Experimental Gallery and a Polyphonic Photobooth in the Tunnel of Vabaduse Square, apartment-exhibitions in different parts of Tallinn and a set of various projections in public space.

Additionally there are a lot of related events planned for October – photofilm competition and festival in cinema Sõprus, Radio Night University lectures, artist’s talks, guided tours, workshops and much more.

Festival Tallinn Month of Photography is organized by Estonian Union of Photography Artists which aims to develop and introduce lens-based art and visual culture both in Estonia and abroad. The union brings together and represents professional artists interested in above-mentioned spheres.

The mission of this union is to spread professional information and increase social interest in contemporary visual culture.
